Marquette, MI – July 13, 2020 – Testing and tracing are probably two of the most important tools we have in fighting the Covid-19 virus. Knowing where the virus is, and isn’t, is vital in being able to get back to the normal we used to know.
Thankfully, the U.P. has vastly expanded testing over the last couple of months, and made it convenient. Last week, The Superior Walk-In Center in Marquette offered drive-thru testing on Tuesday and Thursday.
I decided to do my part and go get tested. When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised at how many cars were waiting in line to get tested. If this were fast food drive-thru I may have been miffed, but understanding the importance, I was anything but.
When it was finally my turn to get tested I was a little bit anxious. I have heard about the test and how they do it. For this test, they swabbed the back of my throat by way of my nose. It certainly was unpleasant. It didn’t hurt – but it was uncomfortable. The good news is, the discomfort did not last. It felt good to be tested and I would implore you to do the same!
