I have completed the John U. Bacon set!

Marquette, MIDecember 30, 2019 – I do not read as many books as I should. Given the option, I would rather spend my free time at home either watching sports, gaming, or watching shows/movies (in that order) over reading books. The truth is, there just aren’t many books or stories that interest me. There is one exception, however, and that exception comes in the form of an author.

John U. Bacon.

John U. Bacon is a professor at the University of Michigan and Michigan football historian. I was first put on to him reading “Three and Out” which gave an incredibly, almost unprecedented, look at Rich Rodruigez’s time as the head coach at Michigan. So then I read his other books, “Fourth and Long” and “Endzone,” the latter chronicling the failures of Brady Hoke and Dave Brandon and the pursuit of Jim Harbaugh as head coach.

In September, Bacon came out with his latest book titled “Overtime.” “Overtime” is described as “Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines at the crossroads of college football.” For Christmas I was given the book as a gift, to complete my John U. Bacon college football set.

I can’t wait to get to reading.
