Marquette, MI – February 10, 2020 – As you know if you have been listening for a while to “On the Job” or have been following my blogs, I am a big fan of good barbecue. I love the back yard BBQ’s, but I have been longing for a real good, authentic, BBQ joint in the area.
I have found one.
On Saturday a group of us went to Lake Superior Smokehouse and Brewpub in Harvey. We got there a little later than you should get to a BBQ restaurant, so I was a bit worried about what might be left. Not like you can just throw some more brisket on when it’s gone.
But to my pleasant surprise, they still had brisket and ribs and that’s all I cared about. I went with the 2 meats and 2 sides option and in addition to my brisket and ribs I went with the smoked gouda mac n cheese and their vegetable of the day – collard greens – for my sides.
The brisket was tender, juicy, and flavorful and the ribs had the perfect amount of bite on the bone that I like with a delicious smoky flavor. I could have ate an entire tub of their mac n cheese, and those collard greens were salty and delicious.
I also had to try some of their in-house brewed beer, I went with the Lake Superior Wheat and Red Ale and both were outstanding.
It was an incredible experience, and I can’t wait to go back. And if you like BBQ, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Don’t forget to save with upbargains.com like I did!
