Marquette, MI – October 21, 2019 – The weather in the U.P. is extremely hit or miss in late October. So when yesterday was sunny and in the low 60’s, I had to take advantage.
My girlfriend has been wanting to go climb Sugarloaf for a while with me, and it’s something I’ve never done before. I’ve lived in the U.P. and Marquette county for about 22 years of my life, and I have never climbed Sugarloaf. So we decided yesterday was the day.

It was perfect. Getting to the top is an incredibly rewarding experience, especially in late October. The colors were vast and vibrant for as far as the eye could see. And the water on lake Superior was perfectly still.
I’m glad I finally went out and did something that I’ve heard so many great things about, but never took the time to actually go and do. If you’ve never done it in the fall, it’s a sight we take for granted living in the U.P.
