Lady Antebellum launches their Own the Night tour Friday in Knoxville, TN featuring the most elaborate stage show of their career. The group worked with top production designer Baz Halpin, who has designed tours for Taylor Swift as well as Tina Turner and Cher. “We drew out the first design on a paper plate,” says Lady A’s Hillary Scott. “So to go from a paper plate to walking into the room and seeing it all lit up, it’s just a tangible culmination of what the past almost five years have been for us.”
Lady A’s stage is designed to get them as close to the fans as possible. In fact, some fans will almost be onstage with the band in a pit area they call “the inner circle.” Band member Dave Haywood says, “This is finally our first step in the arenas to really have our own production, lighting, lifts, stairs, all kinds of stuff we can use, run around on and get out in the middle of the crowd.”
Lady Antebellum plans to make full use of this brand-new stage. According to Pollstar.com, they’ve got dates on the books through next June.
