Detroit, MI – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow will be on hand for the unveiling of this year’s new vehicles at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. The events opens today, January 9th, 2012 at the COBO Center/ Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI.
Last month, Stabenow’s “Battery Innovation Act” was enacted into law to help spur the development of new cutting-edge battery technology and to create jobs within the United States. The plan is to create a Battery Innovation Hub that will continue the expansion of advanced battery sector.
This is the first comprehensive plan that Michigan has adopted that will support the needs to expand the advanced battery production field associated to job growth and to ensure that the U.S. will win the race in the development of new advanced energy technologies.
All aspects of advanced battery production, from research and development, to the availability of raw materials, to the manufacturing of high-tech products is made possible due to this Act.
