20% of Americas AG Products Are Exported So The New Trade TPP Is Critical

Michigan Farm Bureau In Washington DC004Washington D.C.  –  March 17, 2016  –  Hundreds of farmers and local businessmen and women are in Washington today visit the House of Representatives.  The day began with an ISSUES discussion from three qualified and educated communicators that are plugged in with local legislators.

Rita and I enjoyed hearing that 20% of America’s AG products go to other countries.  This helps our economy and helps other cultures enjoy tart cherries, sweet corn, michfb_logostrawberries, sugar or beef and pork.  Plus we heard 25% of Traverse City cherries go abroad. TRADE is really important to Michigan Farmers and our bottom-line, and increasing TRADE with the new TPP would be positive.

In regards to ISSUES OF TRADE, Veronica Nigh, spoke eloquently and is an Economist by trade. I had a good 2 minute talk with her after she spent 20 minutes educating us on the recently signed TPP – Trans Pacific Partnership. Hover over the left side of the play box to listen to Veronica Nigh.
