Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood to Return as CMA Awards Hosts
Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will return as hosts of the CMA Awards November 9 for the fourth straight year. The show broadcasts live from Nashville on ABC.
Carrie said in a statement, “I’m so honored to be asked back with my friend, Brad. The creative process of getting ready for the show is a blast.” Brad adds, “I love working with Carrie. She’ s a class act and a complete balance to my non-class act. I’ll try my best to not mess it up.”
Garth, Reba and Taylor to Be Celebrated at ACM Honors September 19
The 5th ACM Honors will take place September 19 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The official performers lineup hasn’t been announced yet, but the honorees have. Garth Brooks will be presented with the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award along with Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers. Reba is getting the Career Achievement Award, and Taylor Swift will receive the Jim Reeves International Award. The movie Country Strong will also be recognized with the Tex Ritter Award for its use of country music in a film. Tickets will be made available to the public through Ticketmaster in the coming weeks.
Jewel Welcomes Baby Boy
Jewel and her husband, bull rider and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Ty Murray, have welcomed their first child, a boy named Kase Townes Murray, says a statement on the singer’s website. The baby arrived Monday night at 7 p.m. CST, weighing in at 7 lbs, 6 oz. Jewel says in a statement, “Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world. We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!”
According to her website, the Grammy-nominated singer and co-host of the Bravo show Platinum Hit has been working on a new children’s album, The Merry Goes ‘Round, which is coming out in August.
When she was five months pregnant, back in March, Jewel was in an accident in which her vehicle was hit by a fire truck, but she and the unborn baby were unharmed.
