Marquette, MI– August 31, 2011 – The Marquette Food Co-op, Natural and Organic Grocery Store is hosting gardening, cooking, and homesteading classes as well as two in-store sampling events and a movie all during the month of September.
September 3rd from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a free sampling of organic essential oils from Simplers Botanical. You can learn about therapeutic properties of organic essential oils. This is a free event and no registration is necessary.
September 7th at 6 p.m. there is an information session at The Hoop House at NMU. You can learn how to extend your growing season in the spring and fall. This event is also free, but registration is required.
September 9th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Marquette Food Co-op is hosting an in-store event where you can taste samples and take home recipes to try on your own. You can learn how to make the famous Chocolate Peppermint Smoothie! Cost of this event is free and you do not need to pre-register.
September 13th and September 27th at 6 p.m. At Marquette Senior High School you will learn about Gluten-Free Vegan Cooking. This event does have a small cost and you need to pre-register. For more information contact Kelly at 225-0671, ext. 26.
September 22nd at 6 p.m. The Food Co-op with present the movie “Food Fight”. This event is free to everyone.
September 24th at 9 a.m. at the Cloverland Farm in Marquette you can learn to process your chickens at home. This event does have a free associated with it and you must pre-register.
