Marquette, MI – August 30, 2019 – It’s Labor Day weekend. You’re probably getting ready to head to camp or packing the boat for a weekend fishing trip, but don’t forget to look up at the sky over night.
Saturday and Sunday night people all across the Midwest will be looking up to see if they can spot the Northern Lights. NOAA and several other Aurora Borealis tracking entities have reported there will be high levels of activity during the holiday weekend.
The Lights are expected to be so good that people in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Maine will all have a chance to look North for the green glow.
While it is nearly impossible to track when specifically the atmosphere will push out this incredible display, there are estimates for around 11 pm Saturday through 4am this Sunday.
Head out to your favorite dark place this weekend and enjoy the show. Don’t forget your jacket as it’s getting cooler at night!
