Marquette, MI – The 2011 Sprite Spark Parks Project has come to a close and The City of Marquette will soon be the recipient of a grant through this challenge. The grant will be used to improve the basketball court at the Shiras Hills Park.
The City of Marquette was awarded $20,000.00 from Coca Cola, which bottles Sprite. This refurbishment grant will be used for new basketball rims, backboards, resurfacing and art installations.
Measurements of the court and planning for the refurbishment has begun. The project construction will officially begin during the spring.
This park is located in a family friendly neighborhood community in South Marquette off of US-41 and Nicolet Blvd and Allouez Road.
