Saturday, May 5th, Cinco de Mayo and also the night of the SuperMoon! Apparently it brought out the crazy in a bit of all of us.
Jake Owen was arrested on Saturday night, Country Weekly reports. It is unclear as to why he was arrested, but he proceeded to “Tweet” what was happening. “I just got arrested in my own hometown,” followed by, “I was wearing an old man mask and the sheriff decided to rip me out of Steak And Shake and embarrass me in front of my family. Classic.” This tweet was followed by: “You give a guy a gun and a badge and he thinks he’s John Wayne, Thanks Indian River County Sheriffs Office. Unreal.” The previous posts were removed from Owen’s timeline and he did issue an apology stating, “Y’all I apologize. The IRC Sheriff was doing their job. I love hometown. I had too good of a time on Cinco de Mayo.”
But, alas, the sun will always rise, as it did for Jake today. It was only about a month ago that Jake proposed to his girlfriend, Lacey Buchanan, during a concert in Vero Beach, Florida, his hometown. This morning, Jake and Lacey tied the knot in a sunrise ceremony in Vero Beach. A beautiful, barefoot, sandy beach ceremony. Not a bad way to wrap up a crazy weekend.
