Finally, I will be able to go to a U.P.H.A. horse show this weekend in Escanaba!!
This weekends shows are sponsored by the Upper Peninsula Horsemans Association and Circle M Country. They will be Saturday, July 28th, and Sunday, July 29th, at the U.P. State Fairgrounds starting at 8:30 a.m.
Last week, I had to farm-sit for my parent’s who were out of town, and there wasn’t a show the weekend before, so I haven’t raced in too long!

Classes are $5 each and placings are 1st-5th. There is also going to be a highpoint award which will be a U.P.H.A. Members Memorial Trophy in honor of Elmi Filkins.
Elmi Filkins passed away last October at 84 years-old. She announced for horse shows in her retirement and loved it. She was known for keeping them on schedule and announcing “Elmi style.” She announced for the U.P.H.A. and the Marquette County Fair. Her “horsey friends” even served as pallbearers at her funeral.
