Ishpeming – 08/26/2011 – Main Street in Ishpeming resounded with music from all ages as the Wednesday Night Music Club closed out the Thursday Night Summer Concert Series for music listeners. The two hour presentation started of with the youngest performer opening the show. 10 year old, Ben Gronvall with his Dad, Kurt on acoustic guitar, presented the audience with James Taylor’s, “Close Your Eyes” which was simply great. Ben has been practicing his song all summer at the club and he seemed comfortable performing to the outdoor crowd. He flashed the crowd a double “peace sign” at the end of his performance that is signature like that of his Peterson Auditorium performance in April. Sister, Hana, “The Piano Gal” delivered several blues songs from the keyboards and was later featured with a backing musician ensemble to play The Beatles, “Let It Be”. Also appearing was guitarist/songwriter Naomi Noordyk, singer/songwriter Lauren Ferguson; the female trio, VIP; Blues Trio, The Cheshire Dogs and Drew & The Geezers. From folk to funk, to blues and rock, to country and R & B; the Wednesday Night Music Club sampled it all and entertained the audience for the summer series’ closing performance. Hope you will come out to listen next year!!!!
