Marquette, MI – August 24, 2019 – It was a beautiful day down at HarborFest 2019 for the sixth annual SouthShore Fishing Association’s Veteran Appreciation Fishing Day. People from all around the Upper Peninsula jammed into Ellwood A. Mattson Lower Harbor Park, as the veterans were celebrated for their sacrifices with a morning of fishing and the infamous boat parade. Tyler Young had all of the coverage on the shores of Lake Superior on 103 FXD.

The event started at 8:00 this morning, when the veterans went out on the lake to begin over four hours of fishing. The vets didn’t waste any time catching their fish, as a lot of big catches were displayed in the parade that followed. With fitting patriotic music in the background, Tyler announced each and every veteran and driver of all 79 boats.
Veterans held up their big catches as they received applause from the capacity crowd, and the reception was responded to by candy being thrown out as well. In total over 130 veterans were honored in this special event. Take a listen to the well-done broadcast by Tyler below if you want to relive this special day!
