The Legend of Kenneth Bone

Marquette, MichiganOctober 12, 2016 – Full disclosure: I have not been around for all that many presidential elections.  The first one I was really invested in (because it was the first one I was able to vote in) was the 2012 election.  I remember the other elections fairly well, especially the Florida recount in the 2000 election.  The 2016 election cycle has been the most strange, and ridiculous thing I have ever seen in politics.

The Legend: Kenneth Bone

Then came along the legend that is Kenneth Bone.  During Sunday’s debate, Washington University (in St. Louis, MO) had a panel of undecided voters that could ask the candidates a question.  In what was supposed to be the final question of the evening, Ken Bone stood up and grabbed the mic.  This moment was like Kirk Gibson getting called off the bench to pinch hit in the 1988 World Series.

Kenneth Bone, which is now the front runner for who I am naming my first born after (Kenneth Bone Ghiardi has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?), was rocking an all red Mr. Rodgers Sweater with a white shirt-white tie combo underneath.  Kenneth’s hair in a flawless comb-over and a mustache the 70’s would be proud of, Kenneth knocked his question out of the park.  “What steps will your energy policy take to meet our energy needs while at the same time remaining environmentally friendly and minimizing job layoffs?” Kenneth asked. It was far and away the best question of the night, and it was only right that it came from Kenneth Bone.

After the debate, former President Bill Clinton could be seen seeking Kenneth out to shake his hand.  Then, Kenneth could be seen snapping a picture with a disposable camera, flash and all.  Only a true legend can even find a disposable camera in 2016.

When Kenneth Bone walked into that debate room, he had a total of 7 followers on Twitter. As I write this post, he has over 167 thousand.  The night Kenneth Bone stepped up and took the mic will forever be a apart of American History, long after we are all gone.  Because legends never die.
