Gwinn, Michigan– 12/02/15– It’s that time of the year again for the Gwinn Girls Basketball team! The first game of the season for the Girls was a close battle with the Ishpeming Hematites. The ModelTowners played their best but were defeated by the Hematites in overtime.
In the fourth quarter, Tori Lauren of the Gwinn ModelTowners, stole an inbound pass to tie the score 46-46 and bring the game into overtime. The moment when everyone was thinking there would be a second overtime Khora Swanson, of the Ishpeming Hematites, swooped in and gave it her best with an unexpected 3-pointer in the last ten seconds of the game making the score 52-49.
