Gwinn, Michgian – July 10th 2015 – Summer is busy for the Modeltowners! Twenty-seven kids – hoping to get a head start on this fall’s athletics – met at Gwinn High School to work with their basketball coaches during the Gwinn Booster Club’s summer training camp.
The Modeltowners’ great coaches – like Coach Olson and Coach Hill – worked together to design a challenging, skill-boosting camp.
The future of Modeltowners athletics is bright! As the summer camp grows, younger kids are able to get in on the action. Now, sixth graders can get a head start and learn the skills they will need to shine next year!
Great Lakes Radio’s Gordy Mielke talked to Bill Hill – 8th grade coach and assistant varsity coach – who was helping with the program.

Bill said that this was the best coaching experience he’d ever had. He was very excited to see how the program has come together, and could only see it getting better!
This summer program is the perfect opportunity for the kids to make the most of the month before school. The Modeltowners had their first high school district championship in 18 years in 2014! With these athletes working hard over the summer, we could be looking at yet another record breaking year! Keep it up!
