Ishpeming, MI – May 4, 2015 – Back in the beginning of March, we showed you this 1984 Harley Soft Tail during the rebuild process (pictures below). The bike is finished now and it looks and runs great! A lot of work went into the rebuild on this bike.
Valve work needed to be done, the dirty cylinders had grooves in them and needed to be rebuilt. Mike split the engine open and cleaned the blower end. New pistons were put in to go with the freshly re-bored cylinders.
The motor was rebuilt, the transmission was taken apart and checked thoroughly, and all new seals were added. In addition to the complete engine rebuild, the bike also needed an upgrade to an electronic ignition.
This 1984 Harley 4-speed is kind of a rare bike and with 79,000 miles showing on the classic odometer, the owner wanted to get it tuned up and rolling again. With a little help from Mike at Mike’s Rolling Thunder, this Harley is ready to answer the call of the open road.
