Marquette, MI – January 7th, 2016 – I had multiple good fishing reports from the ice fishermen on the lakes in Curtis, MI. So, I made a call to Mick’s Bait Shop to confirm these reports. The good news was yes, the fishing for perch, walleye and pike has been great. However, the ice conditions varied wildly from 8 solid inches in spots to a sketchy 2 inches with slush. So, if you’re gonna fish on the lakes around Curtis, please be careful. Things should be really solid after this weekend. Have a listen to the details.
Next I spoke with Shelly at Straight Line Archery about their winter indoor archery leagues. We discussed their target league, and bow hunters league. Plus, they have a special night just for kids. Have a listen to the details.
Steve and I had fun doing the Big Boy Sports Recap today. We talked about The Red Wings West coast swing getting underway in San Jose tonight. Plus, DAY ONE of the Calvin Johnson retirement watch. I also kinda got Steve all worked up over Mike McCarthy and whether he should be fired. Have a listen.
We had lots of requests today and some were for bluegrass tunes. We spun some JD Crowe and The New South and Jimmy Martin. Also, the Outlaw Cut was, in my opinion, the most under-appreciated Waylon Jennings song, “Rose In Paradise”. Elmer’s American Country Gold Cut of the Day was Don Williams, “Come Early Morning”.
