Marquette, Michigan – May 13th, 2015 – Remember the TV Series Doug? Do you remember the TV Network Nickelodeon? Do you remember Doug’s High School crush, Patti Mayonnaise? Don’t these cartoon names take you back? They sure do for me! Last night (Tuesday night) when I was on Youtube for some reason the TV Series Doug popped up. I had to sit back and think. Hmmmm, who’s Doug again? OH YEAH, a cartoon I used to watch in the mid 90’s on Nickelodeon! Just for the heck of it I watched a couple episodes of Doug on Youtube last night.
The name of every character started to come back to me. Doug Funnie, Patti Mayonnaise, Skeeter Valentine, Roger Klotz, Beebe, and Porkchop. WOW, talk about a flashback to my childhood. Chances are if you grew up in the 90’s like I did you remember Doug Funnie. As I was watching Doug on Youtube last night, I thought about the Saturday mornings when I would wake up to Doug, Roco’s Modern Life, and Ren and Stimpy! These cartoons were a HUGE part of my childhood. Chances are if you were born in the 90’s you don’t know a whole lot about these cartoons… maybe you’ve never heard of them.
My nephew Landyn, who just turned 4 years old will never get to experience these classic cartoons. Someday, I’ll have to introduce him to Doug, Ren and Stimpy, and Roco’s Modern Life. To me, THESE were cartoons–and will always be.
