I have always loved dogs over cats – they bond well with your family “pack”; they are playfully interactive, protective and great companions when you take them for a drive, hike or just hanging out in the yard.

The yard! Oh, yes – the yard! I am one of those responsible dog owners that believe you should maintain control over your dog and where they do their doodie! So all winter, Mesha, our Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix had been “dutifully” confined to doing her business in our back yard all winter long.

Thanks to a quick thaw, three-fifths of the back yard has lost its snow and is down to grass. So, Saturday was a great time to let the cold temperatures assist with the task of yard clean up. Let me just say that frozen is better to handle than thawed!!! Canine residue was raked up in about 25 minutes – my wife couldn’t believe I was finished that fast!
As Yogi would say, “Smarter than the average bear!!!!”
